Great Commandment - "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and the greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40)
Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Fishcreek Naz Youth take 5 purposes from these passages of Scripture to put into practice. Every service or activity that the youth do will be planned around the following:
The teens meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 for Sunday School. They meet together for snacks and announcements. They then split junior high and senior high to study their lesson and for prayer.
RAIN service is held each one Sunday evening a month. Teens can buy appetizers, candy, chips, and pop from the Cafe. They also play pool, foosball, and hang out. They then participate in a big group game using either brain or brawn! Finally, they split into smaller groups for Bible study and prayer. Sometimes each small group studies the same material, sometimes they split junior high/senior high, and sometimes they split girls/guys.
Other activities through the year include things like:
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading
Activities - snowtubing, paintballing, all-nighters, pool parties, super bowl parties, Christmas Progressive Dinner, and lots of hang out times!
Special Events - Each year the teens are given an opportunity to grow in their spiritual walk through a large special retreat such as our District's Fall Retreat, Acquire the Fire, and/or Camp Cotubic Church Camp.
Ministries - The youth at Fishcreek can always be found working in the nursery, leading kids at Vacation Bible School, helping people move, working in the yards of the elderly, coaching/keeping score/serving food during Upward, serving the adults at dinners, and greeting/ushering on Family Sundays.
Fundraisers - Each teen at Fishcreek has an "Angel Account". They can earn money in their angel account according to their participation at fundraisers. They can then use that money for activities and retreats. The following are a few of our favorite fundraisers: Rummage Sale, Easter Candy Sale, Auction and Dinner, and the Valentine's Dinner.

The Youth Ministry at Fishcreek Church of the Nazarene is a safe place where students are loved and accepted regardless of their life situation. All Youth Workers have been screened and are background checked through NazSafe - an organization specializing in providing the tools and trainings we need to create safe environments for students.
